Moden Collective is a community-driven organization dedicated to strengthening families, empowering children, and advocating for individuals whose voices are often unheard. Our mission is to provide high-quality resources, support services, and advocacy that address immediate needs while creating opportunities for long-term stability and success. Founded on the principle of quality over quantity, we believe meaningful impact is achieved by building authentic relationships and delivering personalized support. Our work focuses on connecting families with essential resources, promoting positive parenting, supporting youth development, and advocating for equitable access to community services. We are committed to helping families overcome barriers and create healthier, stronger futures. The inspiration for Moden Collective comes from the legacy of my father, who devoted himself to mentoring and supporting teen fathers. He recognized that investing in young fathers strengthened entire families and gave children a better chance to thrive. His compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to helping others laid the foundation for the work we continue today. Building on that legacy, Moden Collective serves families with dignity, respect, and compassion. We collaborate with community partners to identify unmet needs, connect individuals to vital services, and provide advocacy for those facing social, economic, and personal challenges. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, every parent deserves access to support, and every family deserves the chance to thrive. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and evidence-informed programming, Moden Collective seeks to reduce barriers, strengthen families, and create lasting, measurable impact. Our vision is a community where all individuals have equitable access to the resources, support, and opportunities needed to reach their full potential. As we continue to grow, grant funding will enable us to expand our programs, increase access to essential services, strengthen partnerships, and serve more families with excellence. Meet the TeamDasia
I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology and later completed my Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology with a focus on Child and Adolescent Development. I have more than 10 years of experience working with children and families and feel grateful to be part of the support system that helps children grow and thrive. I began my career working with both children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities, where I developed a strong foundation in behavioral modification strategies. These approaches continue to guide my work today as I help children build positive behaviors, develop important skills, and gain confidence in themselves. I believe every child has unique strengths, and I enjoy partnering with families to help children reach their full potential. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and being outdoors whenever the weather allows
Asia
Asia Nelson has worked at the Allen County Public Defender’s Office since 2001, bringing more than two decades of experience supporting individuals and families within the justice system. As a felony criminal investigator, she works closely with clients, attorneys, and community partners to gather critical information that supports fair representation. Even though her role focuses on criminal investigations, her work often intersects with family systems, child welfare concerns, and broader community support services. Through this experience, she has developed a deep understanding of the challenges many families face while navigating the legal system, and she remains committed to ensuring that individuals receive not only strong investigative support but also connections to resources that can help stabilize and strengthen their lives.
Tony has worked in the mental health and human services field since 2006, bringing nearly 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families facing a variety of life challenges. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with adults with disabilities and complex needs, and he also served as a licensed foster parent for 10 years, providing stability and support to youth in care. Tony holds certifications in Economics and Financial Accounting, which he uses to teach financial literacy and help individuals better understand budgeting, saving, and long-term financial planning. He also obtained his Insurance Navigator license to assist individuals and families with understanding their healthcare coverage options and applying for programs such as Medicaid. Katrina Johnson is a dedicated social services professional with more than 20 years of experience working with individuals and families in need of support and guidance. As a proud mother of one son, she values the importance of strong family connections and strives to bring that same sense of care and commitment into her professional work. Katrina earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Trine University, with a concentration in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Her education, combined with decades of hands-on experience, has equipped her with a strong understanding of the complex challenges faced by vulnerable populations. Throughout her career, Katrina has developed a deep passion for serving underprivileged and high-risk youth and their families. She is committed to advocating for those who may not always have a voice, helping them access resources, build stability, and create opportunities for a better future. Her work is driven by compassion, perseverance, and a strong belief that every individual deserves support, dignity, and the chance to succeed.

Sharita is a dedicated social services professional from Fort Wayne, Indiana, with over 21 years of experience in the field and 8 years as a Case Manager. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and her Master’s degree from Trine University. She is passionate about empowering and educating individuals and families, helping them recognize their strengths and build brighter futures. Sharita values lifelong learning and believes in meeting people where they are while encouraging growth and resilience. Outside of work, Sharita enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading
